Flower Power

Well, here's a card that was only made for one challenge.  But I loved this idea and couldn't wait to make it.  And what could be more suitable for a card with a theme called "flower power"?  This card was made for the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 154 -

For my Teacher

Here is my most recent card.  I am trying to make cards that work for at least 4 challenges, as I am just trying to make tooooooo many cards.  I especially want to thank Shabby Princess for the lovely striped digital paper and My Grafico for the digital stamp with the "school words".  This card is for the following challenges:
1) The Pink Elephant # 101 - - the theme was "Teacher's Gifts"
2) Paper and Such Challenge - - this was a sketch.
3) Simon Says Stamp - - the theme was "Stars and Stripes".
4) Play Date Cafe Challenge # 83 - - this was a colour challenge - black, white with a splash of green

The Bookworm

I made this card for two challenges:
1) Cupcake Crafts # 143 - - the theme was a bookworm and required either an image of a book, a picture reading, or a bookmark
2) Sketch 'N Stash Challenge # 62 - - the unused item from my stash was the ribbon (the white one with the flowers) and also the darker green card stock.  I have had that sitting around in my box of card stock for eons.

Two Shakers

Here is my most recent card.  I don't know what made me think it would be a good idea to do two shakers instead of just one.  Just more work for me (LOL) but I think it turned out well.  Inside the shakers are tiny blue flowers that are cut from a ribbon of the flowers. This is for two challenges:
1) Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Challenge # 101 - - The colours were Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Early Espresso
2) The Inspirational Card Sketches Challenges # 116 -

Happy Turtle and Tag

I made this card for a new Challenge for me.  It is the Delightful Challenges blog - - The theme this week was to add a tag to your card.  In this case, the little quilled turtle that is clipped to the top left corner with the miniature clothespin is a tag.

Here Be Dragons

Here is another absolutely adorable stamp but this one is a digital stamp.  Thanks very much to JW Illustrations for that lovely image.  I chose to paper piece the dragon and that was a lot of little pieces.  LOL.  The red spots are made from raindots that have been cut to fit, where necessary.  I used the swirls embossing folder by Crafts Too and embossed some textured cardstock to get a lovely distressed look.
I made this card for 4 challenges:
1) The One Stop Craft Challenge # 132 - - The theme for "Fairy Tales"
2) The Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 153 - - The theme was "Things with Wings".  I know their are more traditional things with wings, but I absolutely loved this little winged dragon
3) The Fab 'N Funky Challenge # 74 - - The theme was "Cute and Cuddly" and although I suppose some people would argue that dragons are neither cute, nor cuddly, in this case I must disagree.  LOL
4) The Card Positioning System (CPS) Sketch Challenge # 219 -

The Highest Kite

The card is all in shades of purple except for the silver paper that is underneath the quilled kite.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
I made this card for 3 challenges:

1) Stampin' Sisters in Christ # 90 - - The theme of this challenge was to create a card that encourages and has a touch of silver.
2) The ABC Challenge V is for Violet -
3) The Come and Get It Sketch Challenge -

Happiness is a Warm Puppy

Don't you just love this cute stamp?  It is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I just couldn't resist it when I saw it.   I created this card for two different challenges:
1) Wee Memories Challenge # 57 - - The challenge was to create a card using rubber stamps.
2) Lily Pad Cards - Lawn Fawn Presents Lucy's Lovely Lines - - This was a sketch challenge.

Patchwork Deer

Well, it's never to early to start with your Christmas cards.  LOL.  Plus, I have had the stamp set with this reindeer for ages and I have been dying to use it.  I made this card for a total of 5 challenges.
1) Cute Card Thursday # 165 - - The theme was "Let's get Krafty"
2) Stamp TV Friday challenge - - which also had the theme of "let's Get Krafty"
3) Color Create Challenge # 71 - - The colours this week were White, Cream and Brown
4) Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week 56 - - The theme this week was a Tone on Tone card with the focal image popped up
5) The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge # 109 - - The sketch had an added them of making the card masculine.

Folded Flowers

I made this card for 3 different challenges.  I love doing cards with unusual folds and the cascading fold is a particular favorite of mine.  So when a challenge was to "Not be Square" it immediately came to mind.  The flowers are paper pieced.

1) Truly Scrumptious # 57 - - This was an "Anything Goes" Challenge.  They are also looking for design team members and I am putting my name into the ring.  Here's hoping.
2) Totally Papercrafts # 67 - - The theme, as mentioned before was  "Don't Be Square" .
3) Charisma Cardz # 20 - -   The theme was "Birthdays in Pink"

The Teddy Bears Gift

I made this card for the Stamptacular Sunday "Bear-necessities" Challenge (# 112).

Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary

I made this card for a friend's parent's in law who were celebrating their diamond anniversary.  I can hardly believe anyone has been married for that long!  Anyway, because it was their diamond, I used sparkling Swarovski crystals to highlight this card.  I also made it extra sparkly by using silver paper for the frame around the sentiment.

It happens that this card is also applicable to two challenges this week:
1) Simon Says Stamp ( which was to make a card with sparkle and shine
2)Our Creative Corner - - to make a card with a frame that is raised off the background of the card

Sunflower Vase

This was a card for Fab ‘N Funky Challenge # 73 -   Make your own blooms.  Well, since I do a lot of quilling I could have easily just made a quilled card.  But I thought it would be more fun to do something a little different. The sunflowers are made from quilled centers.  The petals are all individually cut and shaped.  I love this card because it is so cheerful and summery.

Red and Gold Box

This was box was for two challenges.  The box is actually from a container of Brie Cheese.  I love the round shape of these boxes so I painted it red with a tiny amount of gold glitter in the paint.  I then quilled the flowers for the box.
1)     Polkadoodles Challenge Week 20-   – Make “Anything but a Card”
2)     Dutch Dare Challenge # 113 -  – Make an altered project

You’re a Star, Dad!

This was another card that was for 4 challenges.  I was really thrilled that I could use the little sand dollar on this card.  I had found this in a store here and immediately thought that it could go on a card.  Yes, it is a real sand dollar.  And don’t you think the little design on it is a star – I love it when a plan works out. :)
1)     CPS Sketch Challenge # 218-
2)     Stamps ’R Us challenge -   – the theme was anything digital.  I used a stamp from Sketchy Bear Digital Stamps – it was from the Father’s Day Collaboration
3)     Speedy the Cat’s Friends Challenge # 55 -  Make a card in monochromatic blues
4)     Paper and Such Challenge # 1-  Make a birthday card.

In the Pink

This card is for 3 challenges.  I love getting multiple challenges out of 1 card.
1)     Stamptacular Sunday # 111- – the theme was “Pinkalicious”
2)     Polkadoodles Week 18 -  – this was a recipe challenge and I chose to use pink, a butterfly, ribbon and gems
3)     The Mojo Monday  Sketch Challenge week 191 -

In the Garden

I am really working well when I can make one card work for four challenges:
1) Come and Get it Challenges.   This was a color challenge and the colors were olive green, peach, and light green
2) Stamp TV’s Monday Challenge which was a Focus on Flowers
3) Cupcake Craft Challenge # 142 .   The theme was “In the Garden”
4) Inspirational Card Sketches # 115.

Acetate Butterfly

I have been waiting for sooo long to make a card using this technique.  I finally have the Stazon Ink, so here goes.  I made this card for the Color Throwdown # 142 (  and the colours were black, lime green and grey. Somehow the grey looks really white in the photo but it actually is a very pale grey.

Graduation - Girl's Version

So here is the girl's graduation card.

1) Going Grey Challenge – the theme was Graduation
2) The Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 104.  I chose to use the simpler version of the sketch.

Graduation - Boy's Version

Well, it is getting to be that time of the year again when all the new graduates launch themselves upon the world.  So it seems suitable to have a challenge with this theme.  I thought it would be fun to do a male version and a female version of a graduate card.  So here is the boy's version

1) Going Grey Challenge – the theme was Graduation
2) The Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 104.  I chose to use the simpler version of the sketch.

Wee Memories Giveaway

I just want to give a little shoutout to the Wee Memories Challenge Blog  I have only discovered this site recently but they have some great challenges and tutorials.  And this week they have a great giveaway and all they are trying to do is to get to 1400 followers.  So, head on over there and give them some love and sign up for the giveaway, you never know, it just might be you who wins.  Or hopefully, ME! :)

Tea Time

It's strange that the theme of one of this week's challenges was to make a card with a teacup on it.  I got this digital stamp when I won a challenge on  I won digital stamps from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.  I am not sure why I chose this particular stamp, as it isn't a style that I typically used.  But something told me to choose it and then came this challenge.  The world works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?

Anyway,  I made this card for two challenges.
1)  The Scrapmaster’s Paradise Challenge # 100!  The colours were Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, and Rich Razzleberry.
2) The Stampin’ Sisters in Christ Challenge # 84.   The theme there was a card with a teacup.  Well, I have three :).  Thanks to Floppy Latte for the lovely digital stamp.

Cat’s Rule

I know I am really boring with my blog posts and that is mainly because I don't know that I have anything to say that anyone else would want to read.  But here I do have something to say.  I can't resist saying that the name of this blog is so true!  Cats do Rule and Dogs do Drool.  :)  So I just had to make this card.  I have had this set of stickers for ages and finally found a use for it.  Yay.

I made this card for three challenges.
1) The Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 152:  This was an anything goes challenge, so, anything goes :)
2) The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge # 108 – there was an optional challenge to use a stamped background.  I did do this by stamping, cat heads, fish bones and paw prints.
3) The Wee Memories Challenge – the theme was “Get Sticky”.  The stickiness on this card is in a few elements.  First, the ribbon was sticky.  Also, the embellishments were all stickers.

Love the Bamboo

I made this card for 3 challenges.  It isn’t my usual style but I think it came out well. Thanks again to Floppy Latte for the great digital stamps.  The Japanese character means “love”
1) Cute Card Thursday Challenge # 164 – It’s So Distressing.  I distressed the Core’dinations cardstock that I used.  I also tore the edges of almost all the paper I used.
2) Our Creative Corner – Au Natural with a Twist.  I stuck to all neutral colours and used several handmade papers.
3) Inspirations Card Sketch # 114

Anniversary Cake

I made this card for 3 challenges.  I paper pieced and coloured parts of the cake.  I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks for Floppy Latte for the lovely digital stamp

2) FabnFunky Challenge # 72 – Buttons and Bows -
3) Split Coast Stampers Sketch Challenge # 332

2) Lily Pad Cards – An Embossing Challenge -
3) Stamp TV – DIY patterned paper
4) Spoonful of Sugar Sketch Challenge -

Just Ducky

This card was created for two challenges.  I used one of the stamps I won from Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps.
1) The Going Grey Circles Challenge -
2) The Dutch Dare Card Challenge # 112 - Winged Things - I think that Ducks have wings, don't they.  I think they were probably expecting butterflies etc, but here are my winged things.  LOL

One Scoop at a Time

This card was created for the One Stop Craft Challenge # 131 which was to either use ice cream colours or the theme of ice cream.  I think you can tell which one I chose.  LOL.

Happy Dayzzzz

I made this card for three different challenges.  This is an easel card, although it may be difficult to see that from the picture.  For the front of the card I used a digital stamp by Lexi Creations.  Then on the inside of the card I mimicked the flower and the bee in quilling.
1) Polkadoodle Week 18 Challenge - make an easel card -
2) The ABC Challenge - U is for Underneath in which you were to make a card that had something underneath something else.  That is the reason for the quilling on the inside of the card -
3) The Color Throwdown # 141 - the colours were So Saffron, Rose Red and Aqua -

Gingham and Roses

This card was created for a couple of challenges:
1) The Sketch n Stash Sketch Challenge # 61 -
2) The Cupcake Crafts Challenge # 141 -  The challenge here was to create a card with gingham and roses.

I didn't have any gingham paper so I was able to download some from which has a lot of great downloadable paper.  This card is a bit unusual in that it sits on the edge where I cut off the corner.  I wanted to make a card that was a more uncommon shape and I thought the shapes fit well with this sketch challenge.  I hope you like it.

In Style

Here I am posting cards again!  This first one was for the CPS 217 Sketch Challenge -

I paper pieced the dress and the bodice and then coloured in the flower.  The embellishments are "raindots".  It's not my favorite stamp, but I think the card turned out alright.

Wow, I am so excited!

The reason I am so excited is that I won the Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge from last week.  This was for my card "Chocolate Trees".  I think this win is especially exciting because it was one where my CARD was chosen as opposed to just being a randomly generated number.  Also, it means I get to be a guest designer on the blog for a week.  I am not sure yet exactly what that entails but I am sure it will be exciting!

Stitched Flowers

This card is for 4 different challenges.  Two of them fit really well together, so that was nice.  The challenges are:
1) Stamptacular Sunday Challenge (  The challenge was to use some form of the word "mom" on the card.  While it may not look like I stamped for this card, i actually did.  I used the GKD "Bring the Bling" set and I stamped the flowers, stems and leaves onto acetate using Stazon ink.  Then I used the acetate as a template for paper piercing.  Then I stitched through the paper piercings.  I hope you will accept this as stamping for your challenge
2) One Stop Craft Challenge (Week 128) ((  The challenge was to use real or faux stitching and I used real stitching for the flowers, stems and leaves.
3) Our Creative Corner (OCCC) ).  the challenge was to use EMBROIDERY FLOSS on the card, which I did by embroidering the flowers etc.
4) Color Create  The colours were aqua, purple, white and green.

Lovely Little Ladybug

I made this card for 2 more challenges.  The first is the Going Grey Challenge - GGSC62 - it was to make a card with bug's on it. You can find Going Grey here (  The second challenge was the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC102).  You can find them at

Enjoy the Flowers

I made this card for a couple of challenges.  The first is Speedy the Cat's Challenge (  The challenge was to add a hat pin to your card.  The second was the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge (  The challenge here was to make a card using only white and one other colour.

The flowers were made by stamping them and then gluing on flock for the outer edge of the flower.  For the centre I coloured the circle and then used Ranger's Glossy Accents to get a lovely raised effect.

I realized after I posted this picture that I was actually missing the hat pin for the Speedy the Cat Challenge - duh!  So here is the photo WITH the hat pin.

Totally Papercrafts Challenge Card

Here is the card I made for this week's Totally Papercrafts Challenge (  The challenge was to use glitter.  Well, I took that to heart and used a LOT of glitter :).

Another Challenge Card

Here is a card that I created for two different card challenges.  The first is the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge:  The second is the Inspiration challenge on StampTV:  I used the colours and the flowers of the inspiration as my starting point.

A Beginning
