Blue Raspberry Slushie

Here is my newest card as DT for Dutch Dare Card Challenges.  This week we were asked to make a card demonstrating summer fun and also to use an image from Di's Digi's.  My choice was the image of Teds99.  isn't it cute?  Also, didn't I find the perfect background designer paper?  Actually, I have to thank my friend Betty for that one.I coloured my image with Derwent Watercolour pencils and then carefully cut out the image.  I purposely left the edges of the bear a little wide so I could fringe them to look like fur.  I glued the image to a square of background and I raised the image section off the card using foam pop dots.

This card also qualifies for a number of other challenges.  They are:
1) Simon Says Stamp Challenge - A Stitch in Time.  In case you can't see, I stitched around the edge of the square image section
2) The Digital Tuesday Challenge # 118 - Bling it Up.  My bling are the small yellow rhinestone flowers and also the beads that I hang on a cord from the top left corner.
3) The Going Grey with Scrap Creations Challenge - Summer
4) The Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes + Buttons
5) The Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 159 - Sewing
6) The Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge # 89  - The Colours of Summer
7) The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge # 141 - Here Comes Summer
8) Getting Cricky wih K Andrew  - Summer Time Fun.  This is a new challenge for me.  Rebecca (aka Crafting Misfit) sent me over and suggested that I should enter this card for this challenge - so I did :)

Miniature Quilled Santa Claus

As those of you who follow my blog know, I have started to work on Christmas items.  Here is a tiny quilled Santa Claus that I made.  To give you an idea of the scale, he is about 2" tall! I really love doing miniature quilling, but they are a bit fiddly.  Usually my hands are covered with glue by the time I am finished.  This Santa is for the Going Grey with Scrap Creations "Anything But a Card" Challenge.  I hope you like it.

Blog Candy!

Here is another great chance for some blog candy - and who doesn't love candy?  This is on the Pretty Pressings website and here is the link to her site: Pretty Pressings.  So head on over there and sign up for the blog candy. It's not complicated, and who knows, you might just win!

Birthday Fishes

When I saw a card that was called "Birthday Fishes" it just tickled my fancy.  So I have to make my own version of that theme. This card qualifies for the the Crafts and Me Challenge # 41 - the theme was to make a birthday card.

Saturday 2 July 2011

Thank You Snowman

Here is my newest card.  I know it is only July, but it is never too early to get started on your Christmas Cards.  This card is a shaker with a stamped image of a snowman.  Then I also included a quilled snowman that echoes the stamped snowman.  Here are the challenges for which this card qualifies:
1) Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge # 95 - Red, White and Blue Thank You
2) Allsorts Challenge # 110 - This was a free and easy challenge
3) Our Creative Corner - This was either a 4th of July card or a Christmas in July card.  I chose the Christmas card because I am Canadian so I don't really have any reason to make a July 4th card.
4) Paper and Such Challenge - Red, Kraft and Blue
5) Delightful Challenges - Red, White and Blue
6) Crafty Cardmakers Challenge # 49 - Spots and Stripes
7) Christmas Stamper - She's Krafty
8) Bah! Humbug! Challenge # 26 - Acetate
9) Sweet Stamping Challenge - Something Unusual - my something unusual is the semi precious stones that extend on a stretchy string from the side of the card.  I used lapis lazuli, red pearls and clear quartz crystals
10) Just Us Girls Challenge # 91 - Sketch

Get Better Soon

I made this card using a digital stamp from "Back to Paper"  I thought it was a really cute image.  I colored it with Derwent watercolor pencils.  This card qualifies for the following challenges:
1) Charisma Cardz Challenge # 26 - Ice Cream Colours.  In this case I went for the colours as opposed to the theme of ice cream. We had a wonderful local ice cream parlour where all the ice cream is made in the store.  I used some of their products for my inspiration.  The peach is for a wonderful peach flavored ice cream.  The green is for pistachio ice cream, one of my favorites.  The gold is probably a little more surprising, but they has these amazing gold sprinkles you can get on your ice cream.
2) Sweet Stampin' Challenge - Something Old/Something New.  My something old is the rick rack ribbon - got that ages ago wrapped around a package of meringue cookies.  I new I would find a use for it some day. My something new is the peach and gold Japanese hand made paper.  We have a fabulous store that carries Japanese mosaic papers and I just want to buy every single package they have - soooo beautiful
3) The Shabby Tea Room Challenge # 68 - My Favorite Thing,  My favorite things are the peach and gold Japanese paper I describe above and the fancy tag die cut.
4) Stamps R Us - There was a little girl ...  Well my little girl is all grown up in mommy's hat and lipstick.  Too cute.
5) A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 158 - Get Well Soon
6) One Stop Craft Challenge # 137 - Get Well Soon
7) Totally Papercrafts - Let's Play Bingo - In my case I played 3 across (die-cuts, embossing, ribbon).  In case you can't see the embossing it is on the sentiment and also on the black edge around the image diamond
8) The ABC Challenge - X is for crossed ribbons
9) Sketch 'N Stash # 64 - I have already described both my new and neglected items above.

Flower Ring

Here is my last card for tonight.  I made it for the Charisma Cards Challenge # 24 - White plus one other colour.

Flower Basket with Butterfly

Here is my card for the Play Date Cafe Challenge # 87 - the colours were slate blue, barn red and grey.

Miniature Fringed Flower Bouquet

This is a tiny bouquet of fringed flowers that I made the Just Us girls Challenge # 90 - Make a 3D project. I lvoe doing miniature quilling and so that you could see how really tiny it is, I added a ruler do show the size.  Hope you like it.

Get well Sunflowers

This card was made for the  One Stop Craft Challenge # 137 - "Get Well Soon"

I made this card for a friend to give to a colleague who was in the hospital.  She wanted something cheerful with flowers.  I made up this style of sunflower after seeing a stamp that used petals aligned like this.  I thought it was a really cute look.

Woof

I created this card for my friend's birthday.  She has 3 poodles so it just seemed to appropriate.  I am posting this card in response to the DT call for Our Creative Corner.  I would really love to be selected for this design team.  I think that quilling has been a somewhat neglected technique when it comes to cardmaking.  I think that quilling can really enhance a card, even it is only a little flower and I would love to have the opportunity to show quilling to more people.

I need to explain why this is my style.  Anyone who knows me knows I love to quill.  But if you look at my style of card making, it has really evolved over the last couple of years.  I used to do primarily quilling.  I just quilled something, maybe added some background paper and stuck it on the card.  But then I started using sketches and how I thought about my cards changed.  Now, I am much more likely to use a variety of techniques in a card.  And this is the case with this card.  I used quilling but I also used a sketch for the background.  The dog bones on the left are paper pieced and I used foam letters to write the "woof". Sometimes I do like to go back to pure quilling, but I think this card really epitomizes my current style.  In addition, I used bright colours which I love to do.  Finally, the theme is an animal, which is probably my preferred choice of image.  I hope you like it.

If you want to check out Our Creative Corner click here

A Day At the Beach

I made this card for two challenges.  As any of you who follow my blog know, I love to quill and that was the main reason for this card.  The two challenges are:
1) Delightful Challenges "Fun in the Sun" challenge
2) Fab 'N Funky  Challenge # 78 - "Summer Loving"

Merry Christmas Robin

Here is another Christmas card.  It is made using the iris folding technique as well as some quilling and paper Piecing..  I made it for the Polkadoodles Challenge # 24 - Things with Wings.

Stars and Beads

Well, I can't believe I am starting on Christmas cards already, but since I will be having a big sale at my church in the fall, I thought I better get going.  So here is one of my new creations.  I made it for the Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge # 61.  The theme was make it sparkle.

For this card I suspended sparky sequin stars on silver wire along with some beads.  I love this technique because it isn't really difficult and yet it results in something that looks very complicated.

Flowering Branches

Well here it is.  My first card designed as a Dutch Dare Challenge Design Team Member.  The theme this week was clean and simple.  I am never completely certain what is meant by clean and simple, as different people seem to have different definitions.  But this card is my definition of clean and simple.

If you want to check out this challenge, and hopefully participate in it then head over using this link and take part.  Dutch Dare Card Challenge

It is a branch from a flowering tree.  The flowers are made from several layers of punched daisies topped with a tiny daisy rhinestone.  I hope you like it.

Thinking Flower

Here I am again with another card.  This is the card that I made for the Guest Designer Position on the Come and Get it Challenges.  I am really pleased that I was able to use quilling again on my card in combination with stamping.  I really believe that they are very complementary techniques.

I am also using this card as my challenge entry to two other challenges.  They are:
Going Grey with Scrap Creations - The theme this week was "anything goes"
Delightful Challenges - who also had an "anything goes" theme

#1 Dad

Here is my newest Father's Day Challenge.    I particularly want to thank Reece's Scrap Pieces of Stitchy Bear Designs for the lovely digital stamp image. I also want to thank Cabio Tse for the lovely little square embellishment on this card.  She taught a group of us how to colour with Copics and also gave us little goodie bags - this was one of the things inside and it worked so perfectly for this theme.  This card works for a number of challenges so here they are:
ABC Challenge W is for Wish
Delightful Challenges Father's Day Challenge
Fab 'N Funky Challenge # 76 - Magnificent Men
Colour Create Challenge # 72 - Purple, Blue and Silver with an optional extra of masculine/father's day
Polka Doodles Challenge Week 23 - Something for Dad

The Sweet Stop Challenge # 112 - sketch
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge # 115 - Dads or Grads
Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge # 93 - Father's Day

The Ant's Picnic

Well, here is another card that works for two challenges.  Darn, I didn't manage to get it to work for 4 different challenges.  I am breaking my own rule LOL.  Both of these challenges had the theme of "Summer" so I thought this was a good card for that theme.  What could be more summery than a picnic and what could be more ubiquitous at a picnic than ants!  I am sticking to my first love of quilling for this card. I wove paper to make the "blanket" and then made a border with quilling strips.  Then I quilled the ants and the little pieces of food they are carrying off.  I hope you like it.  The two challenges were:
1) Totally Papercrafts Challenge # 70
2) A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge # 155

Exciting News

I am so excited.  I have just been invited to join the Dutch Dare Card Challenge as a design team member.  This will be my first time as a design team member, so I am sure I will have lots to learn.  But I can hardly believe I have been chosen and can't wait to get started.Yay!!

Happy Birthday Snail

Here is the card I designed for my role as guest designer for the Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge.  I also designed it as part of an advertisement for a quilling class I will be teaching in Victoria BC in late June.  Before I show you the card, I want to show you the color swatch for this week's Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge. Here it is:

You can find this challenge here: Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combo Challenge

And "tada" here is my card.

Flowers Feed the Soul

Well, here I am again with another card.  Next week I will be having a sale of my cards, so hopefully that will be successful.  That is one of the reasons that I have been so diligently making cards. I apologize that the colours of this card don't show up as well as they could.  I had to photograph it at night in order to get some of the challenges posted

Anyway, this card was made for 6 different challenges.  They are:
1) The One Stop Craft Challenge # 134 - http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ - The theme for this week was texture and I added texture in several ways.  I embossed the green and the pink sections of the front of the card.  The white center section was already an embossed paper.  In addition, the pink paper I used for the vase is also embossed.  Finally, the flowers being 3D provided another level of texture.
2) Stampin' Sisters in Christ # 91 - http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/ - This week we were required to use some "new" on our card.  My new items are the carnation die from spellbinders and the vase sticker.  Both of these were purchased just this week.  How fortuitous!
3) The Dutch Dare Card Challenge # 115 - http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com - This was a photo inspiration and I used the colours and the flowers in the photo as the inspiration for my card
4) Play Date Cafe Challenge # 84 - http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/ - This was also a photo inspiration and oddly, the colours were very similar to the previous challenge.  So, that was my inspiration
5) Truly Scrupmtious # 58 - http://trulyscrumptiouschallenges.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Summer Sparkle" and I used summery colours and some bling with the lovely vase sticker.
6) - The Card Positioning System Sketch # 221 - http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/

Lacey Trees

Here is my newest card.  I was having a hard time with this one.  I just couldn't seem to get an idea that worked.  I stamped so many different images that I have several for future challenges :) Anyway, this card works for 5 different challenges:
1) Cute Card Thursday # 167 - http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Embellish It".  I did this by using lace, a button, baker's twine both as a wrap and as a bow, and glitter.
2) One Stop Craft Challenge # 133 - http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/  - The theme was "Buttons and Bows"
3) Sketch Saturday Challenge # 157 - http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/
4) Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge # 57 - http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/ - the challenge was to use Ivory and Lace on the card.
5) The Come and Get It Challenge - http://www.comeandgetitchallenges.blogspot.com/  - the challenge was to use the "Faux Linen" technique, which I did on the green background rectangle that is behind the focal image.

How Do I Wrap a Hole in One?

Here is my newest card.  I was primarily inspired by the great sentiment.  My dad was a passionate golfer, so I have made a few golf related cards in my day.  This one worked out for a total of 6 challenges.  I can hardly believe that.  They are:
1) Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 106 - http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/
2) Going Grey with Scrap=Creations - http://scrap-creations1.blogspot.com/ - This was a colour challenge and the colours were blue, green, and yellow
3) The ABC Challenge - http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/ - The team B V is for variety.  This required that you use at least 3 different embellishments.  My embellishments are: quilling, grommets, buttons, and a puffy sticker
4) Polka Doodles Week 21 Challenge - http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/ - this was a combination theme challenge and blog hop.  The theme was to make a male card and you were required to use something from the free download available on the Polka Doodles website.  I used two of the digital papers - the blue plaid and the yellow plaid
5) The Stamp TV Friday Challenge - http://stamptv.ning.com/ - the theme was to make a masculine birthday card
6) Simon Says Stamp Challenge - http://www.simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/ - the theme was to make a card for father's day or a card with a masculine theme.

Flower Power

Well, here's a card that was only made for one challenge.  But I loved this idea and couldn't wait to make it.  And what could be more suitable for a card with a theme called "flower power"?  This card was made for the Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 154 - http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/

For my Teacher

Here is my most recent card.  I am trying to make cards that work for at least 4 challenges, as I am just trying to make tooooooo many cards.  I especially want to thank Shabby Princess for the lovely striped digital paper and My Grafico for the digital stamp with the "school words".  This card is for the following challenges:
1) The Pink Elephant # 101 - http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/ - the theme was "Teacher's Gifts"
2) Paper and Such Challenge - http://paperandsuchonline.blogspot.com/ - this was a sketch.
3) Simon Says Stamp - http://www.simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/ - the theme was "Stars and Stripes".
4) Play Date Cafe Challenge # 83 - http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/ - this was a colour challenge - black, white with a splash of green

Saturday 28 May 2011

The Bookworm

I made this card for two challenges:
1) Cupcake Crafts # 143 - http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/ - the theme was a bookworm and required either an image of a book, a picture reading, or a bookmark
2) Sketch 'N Stash Challenge # 62 - http://sketchandstashchallenge.blogspot.com/ - the unused item from my stash was the ribbon (the white one with the flowers) and also the darker green card stock.  I have had that sitting around in my box of card stock for eons.

Two Shakers

Here is my most recent card.  I don't know what made me think it would be a good idea to do two shakers instead of just one.  Just more work for me (LOL) but I think it turned out well.  Inside the shakers are tiny blue flowers that are cut from a ribbon of the flowers. This is for two challenges:
1) Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Challenge # 101 - http://spcolorcombos.thescrapmaster.com/ - The colours were Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, and Early Espresso
2) The Inspirational Card Sketches Challenges # 116 - http://icsketches.blogspot.com/

Friday 27 May 2011

Happy Turtle and Tag

I made this card for a new Challenge for me.  It is the Delightful Challenges blog - http://delightfulsketches.blogspot.com/ - The theme this week was to add a tag to your card.  In this case, the little quilled turtle that is clipped to the top left corner with the miniature clothespin is a tag.

Here Be Dragons

Here is another absolutely adorable stamp but this one is a digital stamp.  Thanks very much to JW Illustrations for that lovely image.  I chose to paper piece the dragon and that was a lot of little pieces.  LOL.  The red spots are made from raindots that have been cut to fit, where necessary.  I used the swirls embossing folder by Crafts Too and embossed some textured cardstock to get a lovely distressed look.
I made this card for 4 challenges:
1) The One Stop Craft Challenge # 132 - http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/ - The theme for "Fairy Tales"
2) The Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 153 - http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Things with Wings".  I know their are more traditional things with wings, but I absolutely loved this little winged dragon
3) The Fab 'N Funky Challenge # 74 - http://fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Cute and Cuddly" and although I suppose some people would argue that dragons are neither cute, nor cuddly, in this case I must disagree.  LOL
4) The Card Positioning System (CPS) Sketch Challenge # 219 - http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/

The Highest Kite

The card is all in shades of purple except for the silver paper that is underneath the quilled kite.  The sentiment is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
I made this card for 3 challenges:

1) Stampin' Sisters in Christ # 90 - http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/ - The theme of this challenge was to create a card that encourages and has a touch of silver.
2) The ABC Challenge V is for Violet - http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com/
3) The Come and Get It Sketch Challenge - http://www.comeandgetitchallenges.blogspot.com/

Happiness is a Warm Puppy

Don't you just love this cute stamp?  It is from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  I just couldn't resist it when I saw it.   I created this card for two different challenges:
1) Wee Memories Challenge # 57 - http://suchins.blogspot.com/ - The challenge was to create a card using rubber stamps.
2) Lily Pad Cards - Lawn Fawn Presents Lucy's Lovely Lines - http://www.lilypad.inlinkz.com/ - This was a sketch challenge.

Patchwork Deer

Well, it's never to early to start with your Christmas cards.  LOL.  Plus, I have had the stamp set with this reindeer for ages and I have been dying to use it.  I made this card for a total of 5 challenges.
1) Cute Card Thursday # 165 - http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/ - The theme was "Let's get Krafty"
2) Stamp TV Friday challenge - http://stamptv.ning.com/ - which also had the theme of "let's Get Krafty"
3) Color Create Challenge # 71 - http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com/ - The colours this week were White, Cream and Brown
4) Speedy the Cat's Friends Challenge Week 56 - http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/ - The theme this week was a Tone on Tone card with the focal image popped up
5) The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge # 109 - http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/ - The sketch had an added them of making the card masculine.

Tuesday 24 May 2011

Folded Flowers

I made this card for 3 different challenges.  I love doing cards with unusual folds and the cascading fold is a particular favorite of mine.  So when a challenge was to "Not be Square" it immediately came to mind.  The flowers are paper pieced.

1) Truly Scrumptious # 57 - http://trulyscrumptiouschallenges.blogspot.com/ - This was an "Anything Goes" Challenge.  They are also looking for design team members and I am putting my name into the ring.  Here's hoping.
2) Totally Papercrafts # 67 - http://totallypapercrafts.blogspot.com/ - The theme, as mentioned before was  "Don't Be Square" .
3) Charisma Cardz # 20 - http://charismacardz.blogspot.com/ -   The theme was "Birthdays in Pink"

Monday 23 May 2011

The Teddy Bears Gift

I made this card for the Stamptacular Sunday "Bear-necessities" Challenge (# 112).  http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.com/

Happy 60th Wedding Anniversary

I made this card for a friend's parent's in law who were celebrating their diamond anniversary.  I can hardly believe anyone has been married for that long!  Anyway, because it was their diamond, I used sparkling Swarovski crystals to highlight this card.  I also made it extra sparkly by using silver paper for the frame around the sentiment.

It happens that this card is also applicable to two challenges this week:
1) Simon Says Stamp (http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2011/05/simon-says-sparkle-and-shine.html) which was to make a card with sparkle and shine
2)Our Creative Corner - http://ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/ - to make a card with a frame that is raised off the background of the card

Sunflower Vase

This was a card for Fab ‘N Funky Challenge # 73 -  http://fabnfunkychallenges.blogspot.com/   Make your own blooms.  Well, since I do a lot of quilling I could have easily just made a quilled card.  But I thought it would be more fun to do something a little different. The sunflowers are made from quilled centers.  The petals are all individually cut and shaped.  I love this card because it is so cheerful and summery.

Red and Gold Box

This was box was for two challenges.  The box is actually from a container of Brie Cheese.  I love the round shape of these boxes so I painted it red with a tiny amount of gold glitter in the paint.  I then quilled the flowers for the box.
1)     Polkadoodles Challenge Week 20-  http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/   – Make “Anything but a Card”
2)     Dutch Dare Challenge # 113 - http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com  – Make an altered project

You’re a Star, Dad!

This was another card that was for 4 challenges.  I was really thrilled that I could use the little sand dollar on this card.  I had found this in a store here and immediately thought that it could go on a card.  Yes, it is a real sand dollar.  And don’t you think the little design on it is a star – I love it when a plan works out. :)
1)     CPS Sketch Challenge # 218- http://cardpositioningsystems.blogspot.com/
2)     Stamps ’R Us challenge - http://www.stampsruschallenges.blogspot.com/   – the theme was anything digital.  I used a stamp from Sketchy Bear Digital Stamps – it was from the Father’s Day Collaboration
3)     Speedy the Cat’s Friends Challenge # 55 - http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/  Make a card in monochromatic blues
4)     Paper and Such Challenge # 1- http://paperandsuchonline.blogspot.com/  Make a birthday card.

In the Pink

This card is for 3 challenges.  I love getting multiple challenges out of 1 card.
1)     Stamptacular Sunday # 111-  http://stamptacularsundaychallenge.blogspot.com – the theme was “Pinkalicious”
2)     Polkadoodles Week 18 - http://polkadoodle.blogspot.com/  – this was a recipe challenge and I chose to use pink, a butterfly, ribbon and gems
3)     The Mojo Monday  Sketch Challenge week 191 - http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/

In the Garden

I am really working well when I can make one card work for four challenges:
1) Come and Get it Challenges. http://www.comeandgetitchallenges.blogspot.com/   This was a color challenge and the colors were olive green, peach, and light green
2) Stamp TV’s Monday Challenge which was a Focus on Flowers
3) Cupcake Craft Challenge # 142 . http://cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/   The theme was “In the Garden”
4) Inspirational Card Sketches # 115.  http://icsketches.blogspot.com/

Acetate Butterfly

I have been waiting for sooo long to make a card using this technique.  I finally have the Stazon Ink, so here goes.  I made this card for the Color Throwdown # 142 (http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com/)  and the colours were black, lime green and grey. Somehow the grey looks really white in the photo but it actually is a very pale grey.

Graduation - Girl's Version

So here is the girl's graduation card.

1) Going Grey Challenge – the theme was Graduation  http://scrap-creations1.blogspot.com/

Graduation - Boy's Version

Well, it is getting to be that time of the year again when all the new graduates launch themselves upon the world.  So it seems suitable to have a challenge with this theme.  I thought it would be fun to do a male version and a female version of a graduate card.  So here is the boy's version

1) Going Grey Challenge – the theme was Graduation  http://scrap-creations1.blogspot.com/
2) The Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge # 104.  http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/  I chose to use the simpler version of the sketch.

Wee Memories Giveaway

I just want to give a little shoutout to the Wee Memories Challenge Blog http://suchins.blogspot.com/  I have only discovered this site recently but they have some great challenges and tutorials.  And this week they have a great giveaway and all they are trying to do is to get to 1400 followers.  So, head on over there and give them some love and sign up for the giveaway, you never know, it just might be you who wins.  Or hopefully, ME! :)

Tea Time

It's strange that the theme of one of this week's challenges was to make a card with a teacup on it.  I got this digital stamp when I won a challenge on http://trulyscrumptiouschallenges.blogspot.com/  I won digital stamps from Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps.  I am not sure why I chose this particular stamp, as it isn't a style that I typically used.  But something told me to choose it and then came this challenge.  The world works in mysterious ways, doesn't it?

Anyway,  I made this card for two challenges.
1)  The Scrapmaster’s Paradise Challenge # 100!  http://spcolorcombos.thescrapmaster.com/  The colours were Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, and Rich Razzleberry.
2) The Stampin’ Sisters in Christ Challenge # 84. http://stampinsistersinchrist.blogspot.com/   The theme there was a card with a teacup.  Well, I have three :).  Thanks to Floppy Latte for the lovely digital stamp.

Cat’s Rule

I know I am really boring with my blog posts and that is mainly because I don't know that I have anything to say that anyone else would want to read.  But here I do have something to say.  I can't resist saying that the name of this blog is so true!  Cats do Rule and Dogs do Drool.  :)  So I just had to make this card.  I have had this set of stickers for ages and finally found a use for it.  Yay.

I made this card for three challenges.
1) The Spoonful of Sugar Challenge # 152:  This was an anything goes challenge, so, anything goes :) http://aspoonfullofsugarchallenge.blogspot.com/
2) The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge # 108 – there was an optional challenge to use a stamped background.  http://sweetstopsketches.blogspot.com/  I did do this by stamping, cat heads, fish bones and paw prints.
3) The Wee Memories Challenge – the theme was “Get Sticky”.  http://suchins.blogspot.com/  The stickiness on this card is in a few elements.  First, the ribbon was sticky.  Also, the embellishments were all stickers.

Love the Bamboo

I made this card for 3 challenges.  It isn’t my usual style but I think it came out well. Thanks again to Floppy Latte for the great digital stamps.  The Japanese character means “love”
